ORDERING
Lunch envelopes will now be sent home
with each child on Monday. They are to be returned on Tuesday or Wednesday of
the same week.
Please check the dates in the upper right hand corner of the envelope.
The first date is the week you are ordering for.
The second date is the DUE BACK date.
Please be sure to return all envelopes on time.
Please don’t put one envelope inside another. If you don’t have exact change put
the money for both weeks inside the first envelope.
Every student must have a separate envelope. We use the envelopes each day as a
‘ticket’ for lunch.
Some children do not like every meal that we serve. Please read the menu with
your child and order only the meals he/she will eat. It is sad to see a child
get a lunch that they don’t like and throw the entire meal away.
If we are serving something your child doesn’t eat, please don’t order for that
day.
Many families find it helpful to hang the menu on the fridge and initial the
days for which lunch has been ordered.
Remember to pack a lunch on days you did not order.
An alternate lunch entrée will be offered on SOME days.
Please check the menu each week before returning your envelope.
If the menu doesn’t have an alternate listed, please don’t mark the alternate
side of the envelope.
Many of you are familiar with our OOPS!
Policy.
If a student forgets to bring a lunch to school on a day he/she didn’t order, a
cold lunch will be provided. We cannot issue a hot lunch because we only heat
enough meals for those students that have ordered for the day.
An OOPS! Note will be sent home to remind you to send in payment for that lunch.
Please return the OOPS! Note and $2.00 the following day.
This is not meant to be used as a convenience for hectic mornings when there
isn’t time to pack a lunch.
Late Arrival
If a student has ordered lunch and arrives to school after 10:00 hot lunch will
not be provided. Please be sure to send a lunch from home.
If the student doesn’t bring a lunch, an OOPS! lunch will be provided. No credit
will be issued.
MILK
Remember:
Every envelope is to be marked with the type of milk you are ordering for the
week.
We offer 1% white, 1% strawberry and 1% chocolate.
If an envelope isn’t marked, chocolate will be served for the entire week.
It is impossible for the lunch staff to remember which kind of milk each child
likes.
Therefore it is the responsibility of the parent to mark the envelope when
ordering.
All families are asked to submit a free/reduced lunch application. The
application is now available on the NDS website: ndsarch.org. If you don’t have
internet access and need a paper application please send a note to Lisa Salvo at
school.
If you child/children received free/reduced lunch during the last school year
(at SFA) your status remains the same until October 10, 2008.
You must submit a new application before September 12, 2008 to apply for
2008/09. If the application is not completed, full price for lunch will be
charged beginning the week of October 13.
Families receiving free/reduced lunch are still required to fill out and return
envelopes. If an envelope is not returned hot lunch will not be ordered for your
child for that week.
You are not required to order lunch every day.
If we are serving something your child doesn’t eat, don’t order.
Remember to pack a lunch on the days you didn’t order.If you haven’t ordered and
forgot to pack, your child will receive a cold lunch and an OOPS! note will be
sent home. The price of an OOPS! lunch is $2.00 for all students
